Why do 8x57 listings say both IS and JS?
Norma uses 8x57 IS (JS). Distinguish this from the rimmed 8x57 IRS (JRS). For older firearms, have the exact chambering and suitable ammunition confirmed by a qualified professional.

8x57 IS – rifles, ammunition and equipment
8x57 IS, also called JS, must be distinguished from the rimmed IRS/JRS cartridge. Always confirm the chambering of older rifles.
