Source and method

Figures are retrieved from Statistics Norway's Statbank (tables 03432, 03434, 08528, 11183, 03886 and 14380) and licensed under CC BY 4.0.

Small-game series have method breaks in 1993–1994, 1999–2000, 2001–2002 and 2023–2024. Lines break at those boundaries and missing values. The comparable roe-deer series shown here ends in 2022–2023. Reporting moved to Hjorteviltregisteret from 2023–2024. SSB did not publish 2023–2024 figures because of underreporting and lack of comparability. Newer register counts are therefore not appended to this series. Reindeer use calendar years: 2025 is aligned with season 2025–2026. Harvest counts do not measure population size.

Missing figures appear as —, never as zero harvests. Incomplete periods sum only published figures.
